Cork, Ireland – 27th June 2025

The sun was shining, the BBQ was sizzling, and generosity was in the air! The BNI University (Cork) Chapter, in partnership with SERVE, hosted a vibrant Summer BBQ Fundraiser at Scala, Blackrock—and raised an incredible €2,936 for SERVE’s Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP).

This heartwarming event brought together Cork’s local business leaders, their guests, and the wider community for an evening of food, fun, and solidarity. What started as a social gathering became a powerful showcase of what values-driven businesses can achieve when they unite for a cause.

💡 Why It Matters

Funds raised at the event will directly support young people in Zimbabwe and Mozambique, helping them gain practical, career-building skills through the SYRP. From solar installation and motor mechanics to culinary arts and fashion design, this programme—developed in partnership with Young Africa—prepares youth for dignified, sustainable livelihoods.

“This kind of support makes a real and lasting impact,” said Paula Quigley of SERVE.

“The SYRP is about more than skills—it’s about opportunity, resilience, and human dignity.”.

🙌 Givers Gain in Action

True to the BNI philosophy of Givers Gain, members went above and beyond. In a remarkable act of generosity, one chapter member even pledged to match the funds raised, doubling the impact and proving that business-led giving creates real, lasting change.
