Youth Entrepreneurship Hubs in Epworth and Chitungwiza

Skills For Youth Resilience Program

Through our Skills for Youth Resilience programme, SERVE partnered with Young Africa Zimbabwe (YAZ) to strengthen youth entrepreneurship in Epworth and Chitungwiza. With co-funding from the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, two dedicated Youth Entrepreneurship Hubs were established to support young graduates in turning their skills into sustainable businesses.

Spotlight: Blessing Muwango

One inspiring example is Blessing Muwango, a YA Epworth dressmaking graduate. Since 2022, she has built a thriving tailoring and embroidery business from the Hub.

Blessing is more than a business owner — she mentors students, employs graduates, and collaborates with local tailors who subcontract embroidery work to her. To meet the high demand for school uniforms, she even secured a loan from EmpowerBank.

She now mentors young entrepreneurs like Tinashe Chari, who recently registered his own clothing business with support from YAZ and the Zimbabwe Youth Council.

Why It Matters

These hubs are more than physical spaces — they are launchpads for young people to create jobs, grow their resilience, and build brighter futures for their families and communities.

SERVE is proud to support this work, helping young entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe thrive through skills, mentorship, and opportunity.
