From Early Marriage to Economic Freedom: Lisa’s Journey

At just 20 years old, Lisa Hazel Munyuru is defying the odds in a community where early marriage often ends a girl’s dreams. Married and a mother by 16, Lisa once struggled with dependency and a lack of direction. But through life skills training with Young Africa, she discovered her rights, built her confidence, and launched her own salon business. Now financially independent and empowered, Lisa is not only contributing at home but aiming high — with dreams of becoming Zimbabwe’s leading hair extension supplier. Her message to other young mothers: “Use every opportunity to gain skills. It can change your life the way it changed mine.”

SERVE’s Feeding Programme in Mazabuka, Zambia

In drought-stricken Mazabuka, Zambia, SERVE and Assumption Parish launched a vital Child Feeding Programme across three schools, ensuring students received daily nutritious meals. With just €3,300, the initiative boosted school attendance, improved health, and gave children the focus they need to learn and thrive. One parent said it best: “It’s not just about food; it’s about giving our children hope and a future.” You can help keep that hope alive. Support SERVE today through a Solidarity Gift or a monthly donation—and be part of the change.

Skills for Youth Resilience Programme

Empower over 12,250 youth in Zimbabwe and Mozambique with SERVE's flagship initiative, the Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP) 2024–2029. SYRP provides critical vocational training, life skills education, and post-graduation support to the most marginalised youth, including young women, rural communities, and people with disabilities.
