Outreach Programme Graduation

Bulawayo

In December, SERVE and Young Africa Zimbabwe marked the graduation of 137 participants from the Skills for Youth Resilience Programme (SYRP) Outreach Programme in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

Delivered as part of SERVE’s flagship development programme, known as the ‘Skills for Youth Resilience Programme 2024–2027’, this outreach programme provided vocational training in cosmetology, catering, motor vehicle mechanics, welding, solar technology, and cutting and design. The programme was designed to support practical skill development and create pathways for young people within the community.

The graduation ceremony, held on 3 December 2025, brought together graduates, families, community members, and representatives from the Ministry of Youth, Development, Empowerment and Vocational Training, as well as the Ministry of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province. The day recognised the commitment, effort, and learning that participants brought to the programme.

This outreach was delivered in partnership with Young Africa Zimbabwe and reflects a shared commitment to community-based skills training and long-term development. A second Outreach Programme is currently underway in Cowdray Park, continuing the focus on accessible training, opportunity, and locally rooted progress.
