SERVE’s Orlagh Henry and her Global Citizen Award

Orlagh is a SERVE volunteer who travelled to Mozambique shortly after Cyclone Idai in 2019.

“Beira is still recovering, homes were destroyed, families are grieving and if you look around you can see this, however, this is not what defines Beira… I’ve learnt so much since arriving here and it’s an experience that I don’t think I’ll ever forget.”

Quote from Orlagh in Beira, Mozambique

Orlagh Henry, silver Global Citizen Award winner.

After reflecting on her time with SERVE in Mozambique, after the climate disaster, Orlagh became passionate about taking action on climate within Ireland. Orlagh created a Climate Action podcast and facilitated a workshop with her local school via Zoom on SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and the impact of Fast Fashion on our environment.

By using her overseas experience in Mozambique to take action and raise awareness of global issues in Ireland, Orlagh achieved a Silver Global Citizen Award.

Congratulations Orlagh, all of us at SERVE are incredibly proud.
